As seems to be the case on three-day weekends for me, the check-in post is a day late. Apologies for that. It's been a rollercoaster of a week with the Democrats taking the House and a lot of down-ballot races and the firing of Attorney General Sessions imperiling the Mueller investigation. It's a good reminder that we still have two more years under this regime and we're still going to have to fight every step of the way.

Thank you to everyone who voted in the election. Thank you to everyone who contributed in big ways and small to campaigns across the country. Thank you to all our overseas friends who've supported us throughout with information and encouragement. Never give up, never surrender.

Reminder that we now have a Friending Meme and a (locked) post where you can connect with others who live in the same area. We hope you find both of these posts useful!

We also have a suggestion post if there’s a topic that you’d like to see discussed but would like to ask the mods to look into. This can be anything from general information, or a how-to-do-a-thing, or something you may want to discuss as a community. Folks are welcome to post directly to the comm as always, but if you’re not comfortable/don’t have spoons, we can help too.

As we don't always get the time to pull things out of the suggestions post into their own separate posts, it may be worth checking every week (or tracking the post) to see if there's any new information you're interested in.

Also if you need help with tags, PM [personal profile] redbird, who is our tag guru. Both [personal profile] tanaqui and I are very grateful for the help.

So, what have you all been up to in the last week or are planning to get involved in next week?

....I summon up remembrance of scandals past?

As I was marching around Manhattan to protest Sessions' firing I felt like I was stuck in a VERY BAD production of Richard III carrying a "Yay, Buckingham!" banner.

To quote another Enabler, "If I had served God as I have served the King, He would not have left me here naked to mine enemies." So I guess it was the Enemy Figleaf parade.

I shouted at PEGIDA, the Northern Guard, and the Proud Boys in the freezing cold until they slunk off, humiliated. Good times.

...I could really use some help looking up & reporting the outstanding outcomes of all the individual candidates on those slates I donated to. /sheepish, but realistically v. low spoons for doing anything political this week after protesting + all the last minute volunteer stuff last week

If you're up for helping, maybe reply to this thread with which slate you'll look up the remaining outcomes for so it's easy to divide up / track which ones still need to be done? And THANK YOU. <3

Tech Solidarity's 'The Great Slate' - 10 outcomes already reported, 2 still need to be looked up, 1 going to a recount on last check (11/8) ETA: many thanks to [personal profile] tani for finding the outcomes of those 2 outstanding races; best I can tell as today (11/12), Jared Golen's ME CD-02 race is still being counted (specifically, ranked-choice voting counting that might - might! - be leaning to Golden (D) - fingers crossed).

Data for Progress' 'Give Smart' slate - 2 outcomes already reported (both wins!!!), 5 still need to be looked up, 1 going to a recount on last check (11/8)

Data for Progress' 'Give Smart 2, Every District - 8 outcomes still need to be looked up

Data For Progress' 'Give Smart 3: LaunchProgress - 6 outcomes still need to be looked up

Data for Progress' 'Give Smart 6: Run For Something and Future Now - 8 outcomes still need to be looked up

Thank you! I may have more spoons to work on it myself this upcoming weekend.

I also strongly suspect the state-level races featured in the various Give Smart slates generally did much better than the long-shot (but really awesome) congressional candidates featured in the Great Slate - I know many of the latter did extraordinarily well to close the significant R-leaning gaps they started with as much as they did in in the finl % outcomes, but it still broke my heart that so many of them lost; I really hope most of them stick around in politics and run again the way JD Scholten is planning to!

You're welcome! Gotta do something while my code's compiling. If there are more that haven't been updated tomorrow I'll probably give them a poke too.

Via Southerners On New Ground (SONG): Breaking: Georgians Arrested at the Capitol for #CountEveryVote
Today, hundreds of Georgia residents gathered at the State Capitol Building to demand that the Secretary of State and Board of Elections count every vote -- inducing thousands of provisional and absentee ballots that have yet to be counted -- before certifying the Governor’s elections results. Because of this action many of our people have been arrested.

We are calling for our Southern kin to donate to release our people!
