Here's a version of the story for those who don't have a WSJ subscription (or access to one): https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/jan/12/us-ethics-chief-criticises-trump-transition-sons-control-businesses

As we've posted previously, Senator Elizabeth Warren is introducing a bill to require the President and Vice President to fully divest personal conflicts of interest. If you have the time and energy to do so, now might be a good time to contact representatives (again) to ask them to support the bill, in light of the criticism of Trump's plans.

Thanks to both you and [personal profile] executrix for this. Not only Mr. Trump's conflicts of interest but several of his cabinet and advisory picks (including Jay Stevens and Elaine Chao, per Rolling Stone warrant strict scrutiny and oversight by Congress. If anyone wants to brainstorm good "omnibus scripts" for making calls to our reps about the pervasive levels of conflicted interests in the incoming administration and their threat to the basic functions of the democratic process, I'm in!
