If passed, SB 731 will revoke the badges of police officers who are fired for excessive force, sexual misconduct, or dishonesty and allow for independent investigations into misconduct. The text of the bill is here.
This is the final week to pass SB 731, as all bills must advance by August 31. The Assembly Floor vote may happen as early as Thursday, August 27.
