[Tweet from Hillary Clinton:
"Studies show the single most effective way to encourage people to vote is to talk to them in person or on the phone in the days just before the election.
This year, don't just vote. Volunteer.

If you've got the spoons, this might be a critically important way to use them. If not, maybe you can still pass the word to people who do.
(And SwingLeft has volunteering opportunities that don't require phone/face-to-face interaction if that's a no-go for you, so check it out.)

Date: 2018-10-04 01:07 am (UTC)(Also, "Here comes the General" in the context of Hillary Rodham Clinton makes me want to juxtapose her with General Leia Organa... which gets even funnier when I remember just how much the plot of the Star Wars tie-novel Bloodline reminds me of the 2016 elections, with Leia in the role of Hillary: incredibly qualified, competent candidate who gets undercut by sensational political machinations masterminded by a combination of her political rivals and agents of an historically hostile foreign power? Yep, yep, and yep. People are even snarky about her husband's checkered past.)

Oh yes, "Here comes the General" is now inextricably associated with General Leia Organa in my head, courtesy of fandom osmosis.
