Keeping up with the news: sites providing a daily summary

From links provided by glass_icarus and rydra_wong in our suggestions post, two sites providing a daily round-up of the main news stories. I've found these useful when I haven't had a chance to read my usual mix of sources, and they usually offer a couple of stories I've missed even if I have done that.
