Celebration Thread
Nov. 7th, 2020 05:23 pmThe election has finally been called for Biden and Harris, so it's time to celebrate!
The work isn't over, of course: Cheetolini is refusing to concede and who knows what his supporters will do in the next few days. There are also the two run-off races in Georgia that will determine control of the Senate, so plenty of work to be done there. Not to mention all the work that still needs to go on to roll back the damage done in the last four years and build a fairer world, to improve voting rights and turnout, and to take control at local and state level.
But at this moment, we definitely deserve a post for celebrating. :-) Both the result (and that we've seen the first woman and first woman of color elected to the White House!) and the way this community has become an amazing place over the past four years. Thank you to all of you!

And today I'm singing "The World Turned Upside Down" and getting ready for the days ahead.

Date: 2020-11-07 09:09 pm (UTC)This community has been solace and inspiration and fellowship during a very dark period, and I hope it too continues even as we get to brighter dawns.
