Hi everyone,
The strike is still on. There's a rally and march from city hall to LAUSD headquarters Tuesday.
There will be a sympathy strike from some of the other unions to show support for teachers. Check here for the list of participating schools.
Things to do:
Denver teachers might go on strike, too.
The strike is still on. There's a rally and march from city hall to LAUSD headquarters Tuesday.
There will be a sympathy strike from some of the other unions to show support for teachers. Check here for the list of participating schools.
Things to do:
- Some of the teachers have gotten ill from marching so much in the rain. Emergen-C packets, hot tea, etc is appreciated.
- Contact the board and demand a fair contract for the teachers.
- Contact the other members of our government - Newsom, Harris, Feinstein, etc and tell them you want a fair contract. Feinstein, as far as I know, has said nothing about the strike.
- Support the teachers by helping them picket at their schools. Tuesdays are short days for a lot of schools so they may not make it back in time for the after-school picketing.
- Support anyone who needs childcare, if you're able.
- Reiterate to concerned parents that schools cannot retaliate against students for participating in the strike.
Denver teachers might go on strike, too.
