thisfinecrewCurrent Republican plan is to demand that Dr Blasey turn up and testify at a hearing on Monday, where the only other person testifying will be Kavanaugh.
They're refusing to call any other witnesses (including Mark Judge, who she's named as accomplice/witness, and who really REALLY doesn't want to be called to testify, I wonder why) or let the FBI open an investigation, which she is asking for.
So yeah, it's a set-up for her to be cross-examined in a hostile manner in front of her attempted rapist and, oh, the nation. At absurdly short notice.
And they're making it clear that if she doesn't show up -- sucks to be her. Of course, if she does turn up, it also sucks to be her, since she's going to be torn apart so it can be presented as "he said, she said, what is truth we can never know anyway let's confirmed the alleged rapist so he can get on with making abortion illegal".
