Immigration and, still, racial justice for me, I think—but that's partly because I can count on one of my senators to pay attention to environmental issues, and the other is particularly interested in consumer affairs and banking (though not only those things: "nevertheless, she persisted" in talking about racism, not banking).
The latest Ballotpedia newsletter has a great summary of immigration actions in this administration. It also has a table of how various Republicans stood on various aspects of AHCA that should be very useful for constituents who can say "you were right about that" or "glad you wouldn't have voted for it, but your wrong about this."
So very happy that the bill went down in flames. Next is a short breather over the weekend to figure out my next priority topic and learn more about that.
I know a lot of people are angry about the threats to arts funding but I'm just horrified by the potential elimination of the Legal Services Corp.
And, of course, in a society where a lot of people are heavily armed and the police are heavily militarized, the invitation to stop anybody who looks suspiciously brown to see if they can be deported today is not going to end well for anybody.
The Senate has said our ISPs can sell our browsing history. The House hasn't yet voted on the matter. It sounds like a small thing, but...privacy is so valuable.
