I feel like a wimp checking 'sent a letter/postcard/fax/email' but actually this week they went to my senators, my representative, my state representative, my state senator, and my state's governor. (And hey, my governor did what I asked. So soon after that I'm sure it was already in the works, but hey, it never hurts to have them hear what you want even if they're already in progress!)

Yay! Yeah, I do most of my communicating with Resistbot, so I sometimes feel inadequate checking just that box too. Kudos for getting in touch with all your reps though, that's great.

I left voice mail messages - and now I've found out that both Mr Wicker and Mr Cochran were given money or had money contributed to their campaigns by folks who opposed the US staying with the Paris Accords.

Oh now, Senators, why'd you have to go and do a thing like that. We were starting to get along again. Now you've gone and done it. More index cards into your mailboxes. And more phone calls.

Ugh. The thing that I hat the most is that the environment *shouldn't* be a political issue, and in the past it hasn't been. It the big money and fucking Citizens United that has twisted it up even more than ever.

On some scales, it has been for a long time: consider Love Canal. But there's a difference between the small-scale looking away of a Love Canal, or the pattern of placing diesel bus depots in poor neighborhoods, and the large-scale denialism we're seeing about climate change.

Does anyone know if there's a current open petition (and do not say he hasn't long deserved it. He said the n-word, that's beyond the pale, end of story. Sorry, I've gotten a lot of this shit this week from so-called liberals. Not a single one has been POC, funny story!)

Do you mean about the Bill Maher thing? (I think you dropped a word in your comment). I haven't seen any, but I'm not on that many lists so I don't know.
