Sorry this is going up a little late today. Thank you everyone who filled out last week's poll. It seems that posts that have info and an action that people can take are among the one folks like, so if you are posting about a topic please consider adding a line about an action that can be done in response. Also, check out the comments because sometimes action info ends up there.

For fannish tools to help motivate, is seems that people were split on whether it would help or not. For that those that it would, I think we'll keep it simple to start with with badges. It's self reporting via poll, and I'll make some graphics. If anyone wants to help with that let me know. I'll keep a tally so there can be "Called my senator three weeks in a row" type of achievements too.

This week, I donated money money to Insight(U)S for their liveblogging efforts in the North Carolina special session.

I also donated to The Working Families Party, which is a progressive political party that focuses on grassroots organizing around jobs and workers rights, including union organizing, immigrant rights, health care, etc. They work on a fusion model, so if a Democratic candidate already covers their issues, they endorse the Democrat instead of running a spoiler candidate. (Their website isn't up to date, but I'm on the mailing list for my state, and it's very active and timely.)

I started following my representatives on Twitter and then I got bronchitis, but I figure it's a step on "keeping up with local politics"
