The people who are organizing the emergency/rapid response to protect the Mueller investigation have apparently concluded that Trump firing sessions, and the acting AG announcing he will be supervising the investigation, is close enough to the red line that there are rallies tomorrow at 5:

Addendum (8 pm EST): I was expecting a text message about this by now. At this point, I am assuming I'll know more, one way or the other, in the morning.

8:20 And I have an email saying it's on in Boston, more details tonight and tomorrow morning.

Assuming this is gonna keep happening, anybody have suggestions for signs? I need two for adults and one appropriate for a two year old.

Fuckin' THIIIIIIIIIIIIS. Actually, it was more like,

Me at 1 PM: Oh man, I gotta get my body to calm down from midterms and that happy/sad/empty feeling. Feel your feelings. Listen to sad protest music and "We Shall Overcome" 12 times. Take a nap.
Me at 3:31 PM, exactly one minute after waking up from my nap: #PROTECTMUELLER FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: suggestions -- if someone has a printer or good handwriting, I feel this could be good (and could serve at many protests):

"Whether ours shall continue to be a government of laws and not of men is now for Congress and ultimately the American people." -- Archibald Cox

Also "JAIL TO THE CHIEF" is a Watergate-era chant which deserves revival, and could also make a good concise sign.

Oh man, "JAIL TO THE CHIEF" goes really well with Spouse's "PENCE FOR PRESIDENT 2018."

Isn't it magnificent? I feel it's like a treasure of cultural heritage that should be honoured by re-use!

The NYC demo has been called for 5 in Times Square. I have a Feldenkrais class from 4 to 5 in the West Village--I figure I'll just walk up Eighth Avenue until I hit the back of the line. My guess is it'll be about 28th Street.

If anyone at the Boston rally saw a woman in a long gray coat holding up a glowing golden paper lantern with handcut letters spelling ‘J U S T I C E’ taped on to show in silhouette, that was me!

(Ow, my arms. I should have brought the stick from the LLS ‘Light the Night’ too.)

I definitely saw at least one sign with that message clearly written! Did you have it written on both sides, by any chance?

I was originally by the right-side fence at the back myself, which then became the middle-back. Not too far away from what I think might have been 7News (or at least a dude and a cameraman with a Very Large News Camera).

Unfortunately it was difficult to hear the speakers that far back, especially with all the helicopters circling around, but I had a few good bits of conversation with the people immediately around me, and I apparently served as a handy landmark for a pair of women trying to find each other on opposite sides of the crowd, so I am glad I went. Glad to be home now, though.
