coronavirus: state-level action

Washington state is requiring insurance companies to allow one early refill on any prescription during the virus outbreak. I just called the Massachusetts governor's office to ask them to require insurers to do here.

A possible script:

"Hi, my name is $your name. I'm a constituent living in city/town, and I'm calling about the coronavirus outbreak.

"I'm asking the governor to please follow Washington State's lead, by requiring insurers to allow one early refill on any prescription medication, unless that would threaten the patient's safety, until this epidemic is over."

I put "state" in there to make it clear I'm talking about the Washington state government, not anything in D.C.

This is brilliant. I JUST had this conversation with my insurer, who said No.

Calling them back tomorrow and saying "I'm asking the governor to please follow Washington State's lead, by requiring insurers to allow one early refill on any prescription medication, unless that would threaten the patient's safety, until this epidemic is over."
