First the bad news. If anyone hasn't read the Seth Abramson Twitter thread on why Whitaker as Acting AG is even worse than we thought on first glance, go do that, please.

Now the good news. A politically active friend who couldn't make the protest yesterday Resistbotted our Republican Senator, Rob Portman, and 1: already received a reply today! and 2: reported that it said that Portman is in favor of protecting the Mueller investigation!
And now the "let's get back to work" news: Portman's aides may be writing this back to people on letterhead, but it's not in his press releases or on either his Senatorial or campaign Twitter, which means he's perfectly happy to say something privately but not publicly. So for my fellow Ohio people (all four of us): we gotta keep calling. And we need to tell Portman to make some specific action steps.
So people who are better at this than me: what specifically should we be asking our senators (people like Rob Portman or Poor Susan Collins who is concerned but can't do anything but wring her hands) to do?
I'll update this post with your ideas.
Specific Actions Steps Senators Can Take
*Make a public statement denouncing the Whitaker appointment
*Demand an injunction against Whitaker being made Attorney General
*???
