But Their Emails (New Republic). Discussion of how maybe the Dems' fundraising strategies have gone awry. The theories confirm all my personal biases, but I'd have liked more facts to go with.
Ways To Stay Motivated In This Shit-Shellacked Era Of Epic Stupid (Chuck Wendig). This is specifically aimed at creators and artists.
Homeless encampments are working, city report finds (My Ballard). Report on a new (for the area) approach to dealing with homelessness.

Date: 2017-07-07 04:27 am (UTC)And I feel ... icky ... being asked to give money to a campaign in another state, because I feel it is wrong when someone outside my state is funding things in my state. Let us govern ourselves, dammit. I know everyone does it, but I don't like it.
And these people are _relentless_. I'm close to not signing petitions (I can always write another fax/letter/email instead) because even those are asking for money. Every time. Even if I already gave. A little more please? More? Now? Maybe you want to give now? Are you sure?
AUGH.
I'm a Democrat. I've been a Democrat all my life.
I wish they'd go the heck away and stop begging and harrassing. It's ridiculous and it makes me resent them.
And...I...share...their...views. I'm theoretically their audience. I do have money I can put toward things like this (although not, probably, as much as they would ask for - I'm sure they can always ask for more).
And all they're doing is stoking my resentment when they constantly. Beg. For. Money.
