Bend the Arc, http://bendthearc.us/
A Jewish partnership for Justice. "Fearlessly taking on injustice with a whole lot of chutzpah". This group is Jewish based, but interfaith. Check out the website, it looks like the United Nations. ;)
Planned Parenthood, https://www.plannedparenthood.org/
Self explanatory. Their website keeps crashing from everyone trying to donate money. Keep trying. I signed up for a (small) monthly auto pay about a year ago, and when I get back to work I intend to increase the amount.
ACLU, http://aclu.org/
Also self explanatory. Their website is crashing like crazy for the same reason. I joined up years ago, and keep the card in my wallet. I remember that quote from the movie, American President:
"For the record: yes, I am a card-carrying member of the ACLU. But the more important question is why aren't you, Bob? Now, this is an organization whose sole purpose is to defend the Bill of Rights, so it naturally begs the question: Why would a senator, his party's most powerful spokesman and a candidate for President The President Elect choose to reject upholding the Constitution?"
National Center for Lesbian Rights, http://www.nclrights.org/
Their name is too short for what they actually do. Transgender rights, queer parenting rights, healthcare law, low income/poverty outreach, and immigration just to name a few. And their website lists a TON of ways you can help. Right now.
Southern Law Poverty Center, https://www.splcenter.org/
Their sole mission is to fight hate and seek justice for marginalized groups. How much work we have ahead of us right now in that department.
Anti Defamation League, http://adl.org/
From their website: The Anti-Defamation League was founded in 1913 "to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment to all." Now the nation's premier civil rights/human relations agency, ADL fights anti-Semitism and all forms of bigotry, defends democratic ideals and protects civil rights for all. Plus there's an intro. video from James Earl Jones. What more could you ask for?
Qasim Rashid, https://www.facebook.com/AuthorQasimRas hid/videos/1188851904542894/
Muslim author and activist. Check out his video: "How to be a Muslim ally in 20 seconds".
