Trump is (finally) a convicted criminal!
I've seen opinion pieces suggesting every kind of impact on the election, so who knows how things will pan out, but at least the principle has been reinforced that no one is above the law.
We haven't had any posts since the last check in, but I did run across a GOTV campaign for writing postcards to voters in swing states, called the Progressive Turnout Project, that I don't think we've posted about previously:
https://www.mobilize.us/ptp/event/626098/
If you're interested, this PAC has done some research around how effective these kinds of campaigns are and what kind of messaging works best. You can read about it at https://www.turnoutpac.org/postcards-faq/
On the topic of GOTV and other election resources, it's been a while since I flagged up our election resources roundup, which includes lots of options for getting involved in this election cycle, with a range of levels of time and ability catered for. As we compiled this a while ago, please let me know if anything needs updating.
And here's the poll (behind the cut) for you to tell us what you've been doing in the last few weeks.Do tell us more in comments about what you've done or let us know what you plan to do next.
As always, everyone is free to make posts about any issues and actions they think the comm should know about. You can also drop some information into a comment to our sticky post if you'd like the mods to do it.
If you're looking for information on anything else, you can use our tags to check for any ongoing actions or resources relevant to the issues you care about. (And a quick shout out to
redbird for all the tagging work that keeps the comm running smoothly.)
