STOCK UP ON SPICES. Not only is Penzeys an amazingly liberal walk-the-walk company but their spices are DELICIOUS. If you're a novice cook, try their mixes, you won't be sorry. And their curries are so amazing I am convinced they have someone Desi on their staff. It's really worth spending $20 or $30 to buy spices by mail, trust me, as both a liberal and a cook.
