The world has become a very strange place in the last few weeks, hasn't it? I hope you're all keeping safe and well, especially if you're still having to go to work or are facing additional financial or healthcare issues as a result of the crisis.

Please use the comments to share any sources of support you know about for people who are sick, self-isolating or may otherwise need a helping hand (from a safe social distance, of course).

Also let us know in comments of any good (preferably free) online resources that people may find useful while sheltering in place, such as exercise-at-home videos on YouTube or smartphone apps, entertainment such as TV shows, e-books and games, or homeschooling resources and so on.

Copying from last week's check-in post:

ACTIONS

Call your state reps and governor about
-making insurers give patients to refill prescriptions early (hat tip [personal profile] redbird )
-closing schools and public events if they haven't already

Call your Congress people, especially Senators, about passing the coronavirus bill (and any other necessary legslation)

RESOURCES

CDC coronavirus page
Johns Hopkins Global case tracker
A bunch of newspapers have dropped their paywall for coronavirus coverage

Let us know what you've been up to in the last week or are planning to get involved in next week. Above all, take care of yourselves, stay safe, wash your hands regularly and practice social distancing as much as you can.

I just saw on social media that local hospital is asking people who have, or can buy, N95 masks, exam gloves, and other personal protective equipment to donate them to the ER. I can't do much to help right now, but I do have a bit of money and an Amazon account, so I ordered two boxes of nitrile gloves for delivery to the Mount Auburn ER.

It's a small thing, but it's something I can do to help right now, more active than self-isolating.
