I've gone to three postcard-writing events organized by NJ-08 for Progress, whose newsletter is called Progressive Voltron. Which I know has lots of fanfic andis about robots.
Anyway, at the events NJ-08 for Progress provides a voter list, a script (they don't enforce compliance), cute postcards, and stamps. There's always pizza plus whatever snacks people bring. If it's going to Sally Elector, we use "Dear Sally" and sign it "Your neighbor, [first name]".
