Election Day!
This post is for talking about anything and everything to do with election day and the results.
Tell us about your voting experience if you're voting today,
Tell us if you're doing something today to get out the vote or safeguard voting rights, if you're working for a campaign, or if you're making sure the elections run smoothly. (A big thank you to all of you who are poll workers.)
Tell us about how you'll be following the results, about the races you're excited about and any news about results you want to share (whether you're looking for the community to celebrate or commiserate).
If it proves necessary, tell us about any urgent actions we need to take (or make a brand new post about them!)
And let's keep each other company while we wait for the results and see how things will shake out for the next two years,

I still don't know what the problem is with my initial ballot. I updated everything when I moved in 2020, and have voted by mail in the interim. It's annoying. I do feel a little better having done the provisional ballot.

I'm ordering a delivery from my local Japanese restaurant as a reward 🥳

And the race I care most about (Representative from District 3), is currently very close. It's 52.6% for the Democrat, with 65% of the ballots that are already in the election office counted. And the Republican candidate is an ardent Trumper. He defeated the incumbent (a Republican from the less-crazy wing of the party) in the primaries, and was favored to win because this is a conservative-leaning area. I'm happy that it's close in the Democrat's favor! but we might not know who wins for a week.

Update: Just found out from Siri that democrat JB Pritzker won a second term as Governor. This is good news for those of us who voted for him, myself included.
