Concrete steps on calling for a ceasefire in Israel & Gaza

Actions to take from Jewish Voice for Peace

There's more info from the Infophile newsletter I linked above, along with resources for self-care.

House Rep Rashida Tlaib on how you can help:

"Many colleagues have told me that they haven't heard from any of their residents who support a ceasefire and an end to war crimes being committed.

Let your voices be heard to help save as many lives as possible."

First of all, thank you to [personal profile] toastykitten for posting some practical information on how to work towards a ceasefire for Israel and Gaza.

Secondly, I have turned on comment screening (for the whole community as I can't restrict it just to this entry).

I know our members are thoughtful and sincere people, but this is an extremely emotive and complex situation and I am neither equipped nor willing to host a discussion about it on here.

I will happily unscreen comments that contain further useful actions to address the ongoing humanitarian situation.

Thank you for posting this. It's really hard to talk about it without being shouted down.

I would also encourage people, if they are able, to donate to UNRWA, Doctors Without Borders, and/or the Red Crescent. These organizations are providing direct aid to suffering civilians.

Rabbis for Human Rights and T'ruah are also good.
