My "something else" this month was calls to the governor of California, about Crestline, and two British Columbia officials, demanding that the RCMP release Wet’suwet’en land defenders who had been arrested.

The Canadian calls were through Action Network, and brought to my attention by tigerbright; I got an email a day or two later saying the calls had worked. Gov. Newsom did issue a disaster declaration covering Crestline, but it's not at all clear whether that has made any difference.
