SCAM - covid testing sites run by The Center for Covid Control

Considering how many people are trying to get tested right now -- and relying on the tests to make decisions about exposing themselves and others -- I think it's important to share information about a large-scale testing scam.

The Center for COVID Control's website lists over 300 testing sites all over the US. From the investigations I've seen, they take people's personal and insurance info, and bill for a test they don't send to a lab. Results either don't come in at all, or come in negative -- sometimes before the person has even taken the test!

These testing sites are scams! Find a legitimate testing site through your state or county health department instead.

Oh no, here we go again. But thanks for posting. I guess this just goes to show the lengths to which the science deniers will go in order to prove their point. So sad!

UGH. We've had this problem in Philly as well; not sure if it's the same scammers or different ones. https://billypenn.com/2022/01/04/warning-covid-test-sites-philadelphia-fake-labelite/

Tips for spotting a fake site, at least here:

"There’s no logo on the materials
The pop-up tent is in the middle of the sidewalk
It’s not affiliated with the storefront or building where it’s set up"
