I'm really excited we have ranked choice voting on the ballot in MA this election!

I plan to make a final donation to Pizza to the Polls today and otherwise try very hard to avoid all election news until tomorrow aside from what ProPublica has been putting out (focus on voting experience, problems preventing eligible voters from voting, etc.).

I have no interest and no patience for media outlets trying to project 'winners' ahead of all votes being counted this year in particular.

I, like many others, voted early this year. But who knows, I'll probably go across the hall this evening to watch the results with a neighbor. Or perhaps he'll turn in early for the night. He says he's finally starting to get better about the self-care thing, and to be honest he has slowly started to do that. "Slowly" is the keyword there. But that's a whole topic inandof itself. Perhaps if he goes to bed early though, I can enlist the help of Lady-A. That is, my Amazon Echo. In addition, I just subscribed to a website which I'll post separately in a bit. I'm also going to meet with my tutor later today. He and I will probably commiserate about the election, since we pretty much agree on politics. So that's what's in store for me today. Hopefully my chosen candidates will win big, but in all honesty I've been hearing mixed reports about that. Happy voting to all who haven't already done that!

Voted this morning, in New York City. A line, but not very long. Everything was peaceful. I got a "I voted" sticker.

I'm working at the polls at Zero Medford Street. Between 6:55-10:35, 237 ballots cast.

I'm in NYC too. I heard on NPR on Monday that 20% of NY's registered voters voted early!

I am trying NOT to do this, at least right now, lol. I am going to try to make a fancy dinner early and put it in the fridge for later. Providing anyone feels like eating around the time the polls close in the battleground states.

As gingicat kindly clarified, in MA we're voting on whether to implement ranked choice voting going forward (may it be so!).

This evening, I must admit the only numbers I'm interested in checking are the ones at https://polls.pizza/ re: how many pizzas they've delivered and where they have active deliveries currently. You really get a sense of how big the USA is when there are so many East coast pizza deliveries to polling places right now (early dinner!) vs. ones on the West coast (late lunch!) with very few in between. When I checked a few hours ago, there was one in Houston - pizza at the polls for breakfast?

I have consumed a few items of food which theoretically make a meal, my pills, and have refilled my water bottle.

I have a hard enamel "I Voted" pin with a rainbow flag, and I've been wearing it when I've been on errands this past week.

My rule for myself this evening was no alcohol until I finished my NaNoWriMo segment for the day. And now I'm tired enough to not want any.

I trained with Election Defenders to be a poll monitor/aid. We basically had a table of PPE, water, and snacks to offer voters, greeted them, cheered wildly for first time voters. kept an eye out for any voter intimidation to try to deescalate and report, but everything went smoothly where we were stationed in Prince George’s County, MD outside of DC. I did an afternoon shift. One of our MD’s US. Senators came by--Sen. Chris Van Hollen, and I got to talk with him about police reform and police unions. A really cool experience.
