Check in 26 Jan

The Impeachment trial is proceeding in the Senate, with opening arguments. Here's hoping next week will see the Senate agreeing to take witnesses and consider new evidence. And while there's unfortunately little chance of the Senate finding Trump guilty, impeachment was the right thing to do constitutionally and does have a chance of influencing swing voters.

In the comm, it's been a quiet couple of weeks, but let us know what you've been up to in the last week or are planning to get involved in next week.

First, I just want to thank you for the resources roundup. I've been consulting it quite regularly since I found it.

One thing I started this past week and want to continue into this coming week is hunting for federal candidates, state candidates, and action groups that I want to support this year. I've been using Ballotpedia a lot. It's a lot of reading/work, but I know it'll be worth it.

I'm struggling right now. With the impeachment trial and the common expectation that the truth will make no difference at all. It finally occurred to me to label what I'm feeling as grief, and that fits.

I'm still calling my legislators weekly and writing postcards, but I've been stepping away from the news lately.
