Action: Call for House Oversight of Trump's business interests, issues getting through

I wish to report that, per this call to action (the call to action is actually [twitter.com profile] KameronHurley's in the tweet [twitter.com profile] brynnaramin is replying to, but brynnaramin has the correct number), I tried calling the House Oversight Committee to ask for an inquiry into the Cheeto's financials, business holdings, and potential conflicts of interest.

I say 'tried' because the voicemail box is full. :(

Thanks for flagging up the suggestion to call the House Oversight Committee re Trump's business affairs and letting us know about your trouble getting through.

I've seen a suggestion at this link that:

"If voicemail is full, press "0." This will typically connect you to a receptionist who may be able to take your message or transfer you to a voicemail that isn't full."

So if you feel up to trying again, maybe you could try that and report back on whether it helps?

(P.S. Would you mind editing your post to give it a subject line, so that people can quickly scan down the comm to see what it's about? Something like, "Action: Call for House Oversight of Trump's business interests, issues getting through" would be great.)

If people have spoons for it, I also suggest calling your Congresspeople and urging THEM to contact their colleagues on the House Oversight Committee on this.

And if your rep is actually ON the committee (link to committee list), contacting them directly is definitely better than calling the general committee line.
