That's what I'm waffling on personally: the combination of context and optics. Because the apparent reason for it is that a foreign government attempted to interfere with the US elections... in favor of the person who was eventually elected. So an administration which has apparently had a foreign government trying to tamper with the election in their favor is now being left with even greater control over the election process. Even assuming the best of will on the part of all concerned within our government, it seems to warrant some close external oversight.
