President Biden/the Department of Education are currently trying to amend Title IX to better protect trans and nonbinary students; transphobes are flooding the public comments. You too can comment and tell them that trans and nonbinary kids deserve legal protection! The ACLU has a page on the artificial furor over trans athletes you may wish to review.

I am writing to strongly support the proposed updates to Title IX. The federal government should support and protect all of its citizens, perhaps most especially its most vulnerable -- such as trans children. Trans, gender non-conforming, and nonbinary students should be safe at school and in their athletic communities, and their safety depends on the adults around them respecting and supporting them as individuals with autonomy. Cisgender boys and girls do not need to be "protected" from the existence of their trans, gender non-conforming, and non-binary classmates; instead, everyone should be protected from the homophobic, transphobic, and fundamentally mean-spirited desire to control and manipulate others.
