Check In 16 August

Biden has picked Harris as his running mate and it has proved both popular in the polls and resulted in a surge in donations. Meanwhile, the current administration has led attacks on both the census and, through the USPS, voting rights. [personal profile] duskpeterson has put together a good round up of the situation and some actions you can take.

It's been quiet in the comm since the last check-in, but let us know through our poll and in comments what you've been up to since the last check in or are planning to get involved in in the coming weeks. Above all, take care of yourselves and stay safe.

I just discovered this comm last night and joined. Looks good so far, and speaking of the November elections I sent in my application for a mail ballot. I am having it go to my parents' address though, even though I moved back to my apartment almost 2 weeks ago. The reason is that I am blind, and there are currently no Braille ballots afaik. At least none in my state. Audio ballot machines may be a different story. I used one of these in the 2008 elections, and it worked pretty well. Anyway...fingers and toes crossed that things work out well in November. I will try and post a formal introduction later.
