Check In 9 June

It's been quiet in the comm for the last couple of weeks, but you can check out our tags if you're looking for activities to get involved in. If you're already taking action, why not share what you're doing in the comments and inspire other people to help out with your causes as well?

So, what have you all been up to in the last week or are planning to get involved in next week?

I went to the anti-Trump protests in London and waved my placard in the rain!

Thank you! Seeing the protests directed at him even overseas is encouraging enough to persist.

Parent of a LGBTQIA+ teen, no GSA or other queer club officially in the charter gifted middle school. My teen still talks to me, and I'm trying to keep the queer teens that all hang out together from needing more than outpatient therapy, or at least GETTING appropriate residential treatment when required.

If you have any way of helping the vulnerable, sensitive minors, please do so. They're screaming for help, many of them. :-(

I texted and tweeted the premier, Man Of the People who always has his door open to listen, about his blatant lies and how they have screwed over my workplace. Shockingly, I got no response.

"Did something else" because going to watch the Boston Pride parade feels like it's something, but it doesn't feel like "went to a protest" even though I joined in an impromptu "trans lives matter" chant when someone passed with a "protect trans kids" banner. Marching might still have felt like "went to a protest," but waving at and cheering people in the parade doesn't. Which is progress, I know.

Since this is a non-partisan space, I haven't been talking about the stuff I've been doing for a presidential candidate.

Went to a meeting of my local elections board, and plan to volunteer with them in 2020--- if anyone is looking for something they can do in their area, this is something I recommend highly.
