For all US folks going into the election, here is an excellent multimedia resource for anyone having difficulties voting: 866ourvote.org.

And, yes, that is also an actual phone number, 866-687-8683 and a text resource, where you can text "Our vote" to 97779. The hotline is run by the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under the Law. They also have a bunch of affiliates for speakers of languages-not-English.

I volunteered for 866ourvote.org! On Tuesday, I am scheduled to stand outside (....oops, forecast is rain...) between 3 and 8 pm. Outside, because we don't have any official standing so we have to stay behind the 100 foot electioneering line. We answer people's questions! If they have a hassle, we can accompany them to talk to the poll workers! We make phone calls to HQ so they can collect information for impact suits!

In MA, we have to stick 150 feet from the polling place.

Anyway, I, too, am doing this, and I'm *also* last shift. I did this in 2016, and I really enjoyed it. Helped a bunch of people find their actual polling place, as opposed to the one they thought they were registered at.

I'm assigned to Ward C but I was deeply suspicious in 2016 when, for the first time in human history, they sent the Ward F (the Hood) voters to Ward E, although they had enough functioning voting machines for Ward E but not for Ward F...

It's dubious whether my t-shirt will arrive in time, so I bought a poncho from the dollar store (non-partisan green) and a lanyard with a badge holder (non-partisan yellow) so I can print out a Volunteer tag. I feel a bit like Napoleon crowning himself emperor.

One thing about November in the Northeast is that...running around in your shirtsleeves is not really a great idea, so t-shirt even if present would have to be flashed beneath fall jacket.
