Next election: June 12th
On June 12th, the following states are having their spring elections:
Maine -- Nevada -- North Dakota -- South Carolina -- Virginia
If you know anyone in these states, REMIND THEM TO VOTE!
(Early voting runs through the 8th in Nevada, and the 11th in Maine, SC, and Virginia)
Don't be fooled by the way people talk about them -- so-called "primary" elections aren't just about selecting candidates for the fall. Lots of offices are on the ballot ONLY in the spring. Depending on the state and county, that can include county election clerks, judges, and district attorneys, among others.
If you care about election integrity and racial justice reform, then spring elections are important!
Turnout is usually low and typically leans Republican, so these important local offices tend to lean that way as well. We need to get the word out about why these ignored elections matter!
For the rest of the season, I'm going to post the upcoming dates for various states. If you know anyone in these states, poke them and remind them to vote! Every vote counts!
